Jim’s ’48 De Soto was restored by Automotive Design Center and Posen. The exterior is stock; the paint is a current Chrysler color, Inferno Red. The upholstery, Highlander, is a factory option that was an available for these cars when originally sold; Jim chose that for the car. The motor and drive train make this vehicle a street rod; it has a 2005 Chrysler 5.7 liter hemi-head motor with a 5-speed automatic transmission. The car is ‘power everything -steering, disc brakes, locks. It is air conditioned and it has an independent front suspension.
