What an incredible night for a car show in Lombard! So many familiar cars and so many to explore. I spoke with a Pontiac Catalina owner who said ‘perfect weather’ and I said I’d like it a few degrees cooler before I’d call it perfect – sure nuff, by 7:00 it had cooled down! The band was L.T.D. and click here for YouTube videos of some of the songs they cover.
I saw many familiar cars and finally spoke with Geno about his immaculate, unrestored two tone ’56 Oldsmobile 98 and I met John who owns a gorgeous silver 1940 Buick Business Coupe. Finally I learned about these two cars.. Many regulars attended whose cars I’ve featured and want to cover:
- Mike’s turquoise ’65 Chevrolet Impala Super Sport
- Jim & Carol’s silver ’65 Ford Mustang
- Ernie’s grey ’37 Pontiac Business Coupe
- Frank’s red ’51 Pontiac Cheiftan Convertible
- John’s tri-color green ’55 Buick Super Coupe
- Herb’s blue ’65 Formula Five Cobra
- Jerry’s dark blue ’66 Pontiac Bonneville Convertible (photos coming)
- Joe’s pea green ’66 Ford Galaxie (photos and decades long story coming)
- Tom & Carol’s candy apple maroon ’52 Chevrolet convertible
- Russ’ grey
20052006 Lotus Elise (he has two more and I will take notes!) - Jim & Mary’s dandelion yellow and black ’55 Ford Victoria coupe
