Carmela’s uncle bought this Kaiser autombile new in 1953 and it’s been in the family ever since. He drove it into the ’60s and it’s been down route 66 a number of times. The motor is a Continental ‘L’ head inline six cylinder with 226 cubic inches. The car was built at willow Run, Michigan.
It had deteriorated and he was in the process of restoring it when the rusted floor board became too big a problem and he thought of parting it out. Carmella would hear nothing of that and she convinced him to let her restore it. And the work was just completed before the Rizza show. She took great care in the restoration. It’s restored original; the body is painted copper dust and Austrialian beige is the color of the top. The interior is also amazing with two tone upholstery. Carpeting the rear but in the front the floor is covered with a rubber mat.
