Lifers

Some cars have ‘been in the family’ for decades and this page is to recognize that. Additionally I’ll toast the ‘significant others’ who share the ‘love of Cruising’.Rollie has been the owner of his 1954 ‘vette longer than any other car I’ve discovered. John’s cherry, original 1950 Ford convertible was bought new by his uncle on 5 September 1950; and he bought it from that uncle in 1961. Carmella’s gorgeous Kaiser Manhattan has been in her family since 1953. Let me add special mention for Rich (1962 Pontiac Catalina, Charlie (burgandy Palomar red ’64 Chevrolet Corvair), Bill (black 1965 Pontiac GTO), Ralph (black 1966 Olds 4-4-2), Rich (white 1968 Pontiac Bonneville)  Terry (purple ’71 Plymouth Barracuda), Bob (1975 Corvette), Elliot (blue 1975 Chevrolet Caprice convertible), Larry (blue 1975 Chevrolet Caprice convertible) and (Charlie 1977 Eldorado) who were the the original and only owners of their vehicles, all for over 39 years. And I mustn’t overlook the fact that married couple Terry and Elliot are original owners.

  1. John’s uncle purchased this green 1950 Ford convertible in 1950; it is original but for the top (64 years in the family).
  2. Carmella’s uncle acquired this 2-tone  1953 Kaiser Manhattan new in 1953 (61 years in family)
  3. Deborah’s parents bought this red ’55 Merc used in ’56 and drove her in it. When husband Steve takes it to shows, he plants the original car seat from the 50’s on the seat. (58 years) *
  4. Rollie purchased his white ’54 Vette in 1958 (56 years)
  5. Rich bought his ’62 Belmar Red Catalina new in 1962

  6. Sharon’s folks bought the cream ’63 Ford Galaxie convertible new in ’63
    (51 years) *
  7. Charlie bought his maroon Palomar Red ’64 Chevy Corvair new in 1964. (50 years, original owner)
  8. Bill bought his black 1965 Pontiac GTO new in 1965 (49 years original owner)
  9. Ralph acquired his black ’66 Oldsmobile in 1966 (48 years original owner) *
  10. Rich purchased his white 1969 Pontiac Bonneville in late 1968 (46 years, original owner)
  11. Tony bought his 1958 Corvette in 1970 (44 years) *
  12. Terry has owned his 2-tone  1956 Ford Fairlane Victoria hardtop since 1970 (44 years)
  13. Terry bought her purple ’71 Plymonth Barracuda new in 1972. (42 years, Original owner)
  14. Mike bought his fuel injected red split window 1963 Corvette in 1972  (42 years)
  15. Joe bought his 1937 Ford in 1973 (41 years) *
  16. Elliot purchased his 1975 Chevrolet Caprice Classic new in 1975 (39 years original owner)
  17. Larry bought his 1975 Chevy Caprice Classic in 1975 (identical car to Elliot’s, 39 years original owner) *
  18. Bob is an original owner of a white 1975 Chevrolet Corvette with 39,000 miles (39 years) *
  19. Jim has had his black ’57 Oldsmobile 98 Starfire since 1977. (37 years)
  20. George bought his gray 1973 Cadillac Eldorado in 1977 (37 years)
  21. Charlie took delivery of his 1976 Cadillac Eldorado in 1977 (37 years original owner) *
  22. Karl purchased his blue 1969 Mustang in 1977 (37 years)
  23. Paul (Karl’s twin) got his blue ’74 MG Midget in 1978 (36 years)
  24. Rich bought his 1959 Corvette (as a basket case) in 1978 (36 years) *
  25. Ray’s dad bought this white ’78 El Dorado in 1978 (35 years)
  26. Jim bought his 1936 Ford Club Cabriolet in 1980 (34 years) *
  27. Geno has had his two tone ’56 Oldsmobile 98 since 1981. (33 years)
  28. Rich bought his aquamarine ’62 Catalina in 1982. (32 years)
  29. Don purchased his ’56 Ford Country Sedan wagon in 1982. (32 years)
  30. Dominick purchased his 1958 Dodge Custom Royal D 500 in 1983 (31 years)
  31. Wayne bought his ’56 Ford Sunliner in 1983 (31 years)
  32. Ben latched onto his burgandy ’46 Ford Coupe in 1983 (31 years) *
  33. Sal and Dee bought their ’55 Ford Customline in 1985 (28 years)
  34. Bill has owned his black ’57 Mercury Turnpike Cruiser since 1987 (27 years)
  35. Jerry bought his 2-tone ’55 Crown Victoria about 1987. (27 years)
  36. Ron got his red ’59 Cadillac Series 62 convertible in  1988 (28 years) *
  37. Ed’s green ’47 New Yorker came into his garage in 1991 (23 years) *
  38. Ernie bought his ’37 Pontiac Business Coupe in 1995. (19 years)
  39. Gary’s white ’55 Ford Customline was obtained in 1996 (18 years) *
  40. Frank purchased his black  ’77 Corvette again in 1998 (16 years)
  41. Clarence bought his rare (283 made) burgandy ’67 Dodge Coronet R/T in 1999 (15 years)
  42. Jim bought his 1964 Imperial Crown in 1999 (15 years)*
  43. Allen has owned his ’69 Shelby Cobra since 2000 (14 years)
  44. Bob purchased his ’55 Pontiac Catalina in 2000(13 years)
  45. Joe purchased his ‘dream’ 1962 Oldsmobile Starfire in 2000 (14 years)
  46. Andrea bought her red ’57 Ford Thunderbird in 2000. (14  years)
  47. Frank has owned his’53 Cadillac since 2000. (14 years)
  48. Jim bought his two tone ’55 Ford Victoria about 2000. (14 years)
  49. Glenn has had his ’33 Chevy street rod since 2000 (14 years)
  50. Art purchased his 1954 Buick Skylark in 2001 (13 years)
  51. Dave bought this red 1970 Oldsmobile 4-4-2 in 2002 (12 years)
  52. Jeff found his metallic blue ’62 Oldsmobile Starfire in 2002 (12 years)
  53. Joe has owned his ’69 Roadrunner since 2003. (11 years)
  54. Tony acquired his white ’55 bubble top Crown Vic in 2003 (11 years) *
  55. Bob has owned his blue & white 1955 Buick Century since 2003. (11 years)
