Mike first ‘met’ this Corvette in October or November, 1971 after retuning from Vietnam. He was still in the service when he bought it in September 1972. The original motor was a 327 with fuel injection (and that EFI unit is still on the car). He had no idea the car would become a classic; it was just a ‘used car’. Then, Mike wanted performance so he added a larger motor, 400 cu in Chevy block with a 350 crank. Gas on the Army base was only $ .28 a gallon and $ 4.00 filled the tank! The upholstery is original and he’s restored the car twice. Mike drives it about 1,000 miles a year but he has no idea of the total mileage.

Focus on Cars
I like to focus on cars I can photograph in depth and write a 'car story' about the owner's experiences with the vehicle. Now there are over 55 stories of these cars; and here is a shortcut link.Post archives
