The band was a Beatles tribute group, American English, and the show was packed with cars and the concert audience. Here are the Beatles performing some of the songs covered at this event.
Oldsmobiles from the 50s are very special to me because the first family car I can recall was my mother’s 1958 Olds Ninety Eight. I’ve created pages for Rick’s ’56 Olds Holiday 88, Geno’s ’56 Olds Ninety Eight and Jim’s ’57 Olds Starfire. At this show I bookended mom’s car by meeting Al and his red four door 1959 Oldsmobile 98. His dad had bought it in 1977 and it was kept many years in a barn in Iowa. The interior and exterior are original!
I am quite interested in car owners who’ve had their vehicles a long time and there are two cars from this show I’ll mention. There’s a third car, a 1962 Jaguar XK-E. I only spoke with the owner who’d bought it new in 1962 but he didn’t bring it to this show. He lives nearby and hopefully I’ll see that car too.
I just met Joe on Saturday who had wanted an ‘old car’ and 40 years ago he bought this 1937 Ford Super DeLuxe. It was painted thirty years ago.
I’d met Elliot last year but just delved into his 1975 Chevrolet Caprice Classic convertible which he bought new in 1975.
