1962 Catalina
Cars are special in our culture. Some people I’ve met keep their cars for a long time and I really like to recognize that longevity and especially original owner old cars. Rich bought this Belmar Red Pontiac Catalina new in 1962, which makes it the longest original owner car I’ve found; taking over the top spot from Charlie and his Palomar Red 1964 Chevrolet Corvair whom I saw last Friday. I shot this car but it wasn’t until after dark I saw Rich and found out this was his original owner car; I want more photos.
Originally the Catalina had a 389 cu in motor but Rich added a 460 with 2 4bbl carburetors.
I’d first met Rich at Lombard last year and he’s an active member in the Pontiac club. I did this page about his Aquamarine 1962 Catalina. He also has a red Catalina convertible.
