As you may know, I enjoy finding car owners who have held onto their automobiles ‘for ages’. Every car has a story (many are at these links for Chryslers, Fords and GM) but there’s often a great story why someone would keep a car for decades.
I just updated my ‘lifers’ (new name) gallery through the 2013 season and there are now there are 56 cars having been owned or in the family from 64 years to 10 years. John’s green 1950 Ford Custom convertible was bought by his (favorite) uncle right after Labor Day in 1950; Rich’s Belmar Red 1962 is the oldest one-owner car I’ve encountered. I did run into a fellow who said he had an original 1962 Jaguar XK-E but I haven’t actually seen that vehicle.
See this page for the full list of these cars.
